Getting from Bariloche Airport to Downtown

Upon arrival at Bariloche Airport (BRC), there are several options to reach downtown Bariloche:

Daily Lunch

Lunch will be provided every day at the INVAP cafeteria. A variety of meal options will be available, including vegetarian and gluten-free choices. Please inform us of any specific dietary restrictions in advance.

Transportation Between Downtown and INVAP

Buses will be organized to transport attendees from downtown Bariloche to INVAP in the morning, and back downtown in the evening. The buses will be scheduled as follows:

Note: The return bus from INVAP to downtown Bariloche on Wednesday, October 16 2024, is scheduled in the mid-morning due to the group excursion to Isla Victoria. See the Social Events tab for more information.

Communication During the Conference

Closer to the conference date, we will establish a communication channel using either WhatsApp, Slack, or Mattermost. This will be used to share real-time updates, important announcements, and facilitate communication among attendees. Further details will be provided in due course.

Wireless Internet Access

Complimentary Wi-Fi will be provided at the conference venue for all attendees. Wi-Fi is also available in most hotels in Bariloche.

Side Meeting Room

A meeting room will be available throughout the week for conference attendees to meet with colleagues or discreetly check emails.

Weather and Clothing

The weather in Bariloche in October can be variable, with temperatures ranging from 5°C to 18°C (41°F to 64°F). We recommend dressing in layers to accommodate the fluctuating temperatures, and bringing a rain jacket as there is a chance of showers.

Currency and Payment Options

The local currency in Argentina is the Argentine Peso (ARS). ATMs are widely available in Bariloche, and most establishments accept credit cards. However, it is advisable to carry some cash for smaller vendors or in case of network issues.

Many establishments also accept Euro and US dollars, often providing change in Argentine pesos (ARS).

Language

The official language of RFI 2024 is English.

Note that the primary language spoken in Bariloche is Spanish. While many people in the hospitality industry speak English, it may be helpful to know some basic Spanish phrases. Translation assistance may be available upon request.

Power and Connectivity

Argentina uses dominantly Type I power outlets and occasionally Type C power outlets, with a standard voltage of 220V and frequency of 50Hz. Please ensure you have the appropriate plug adapters and voltage converters for your devices. Free Wi-Fi will be available at the conference venue and in most hotels.
