RFI 2024 Code of Conduct

The RFI 2024 conference organizing committee is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all attendees, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, or nationality. We expect all participants to uphold the principles of professionalism, integrity, and mutual respect throughout the conference sessions and any related social events.

1. Expected Behavior

• Be considerate, respectful, and collaborative in all interactions with other conference attendees, including during talks, break-out sessions, and social events.
• Refrain from any form of harassment, discrimination, or offensive behavior, including unwelcome sexual advances, comments, or physical contact.
• Respect the boundaries and personal space of others. Avoid disruptive behavior that interferes with the conference experience of other participants.
• Actively listen and engage in discussions with an open mind. Respect differing viewpoints and avoid personal attacks.
• Comply with the rules and regulations of the conference venue, including health and safety guidelines.

2. Unacceptable Behavior

• Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form.
• Disruptive or inappropriate behavior during presentations, break-out sessions, or social events.
• Unwanted physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention.
• Use of offensive or derogatory language, including in presentations, discussions, or written communications.
• Violation of the conference's photography or recording policy. Please read carefully the "Photography and Recording Policy" section below.

3. Reporting Incidents

If you experience or witness any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it immediately to a member of the conference organizing committee identified with their red lanyards. All reports will be handled confidentially and promptly. The organizing committee reserves the right to take appropriate action, including warning the offender, expulsion from the conference without a refund, or contacting local authorities.

4. Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior

Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in actions such as:

• Warning the offender.
• Expulsion from the conference without a refund.
• Reporting the incident to the offender's institution or employer.
• Contacting local law enforcement, if necessary.

5. Photography and Recording Policy

Photography and recording are strictly prohibited within INVAP premises, except in designated areas clearly marked by visible signs or written authorization.

When authorized by INVAP policy, or outside INVAP, please respect the privacy of other attendees and seek permission before photographing or recording them. Recording of presentations is only allowed with prior consent from the speaker.

6. Health and Safety

The health and safety of all attendees are our priority. Please adhere to all health and safety guidelines provided by the conference venue, including COVID-19 protocols if applicable. We encourage all attendees to be mindful of their well-being and the well-being of others.
